Suggested short sailing weekends

A short sailing weekend from Harlingen

You arrive onboard around 5:00pm on Friday afternoon. We greet the guests, allocate the quarters and briefly introduce ourselves. The skipper will then present a short workshop about sailing and the safety rules. We will then sail to a location such as Terschelling. In this case we’ll sail a relatively straight line. Sailing time is approximately 3 to 3.5 hours. You can visit the island and go on a bicycle ride, horse ride or just sit down and enjoy the beach. You can also visit Hessel, the Lee Towers of Terschelling!

We’ll set sail on Saturday morning at approximately 10:00. On the way we’ll take a detour to a location such as the seal bank which is located between Vlieland and Terschelling. There are usually 50 – 70 seals here. We’ll try to get you as close as possible to them. We’ll be back in Harlingen around 4:00pm. (Visits to Vlieland or Texel are also possible during a short sailing weekend.)

A short sailing weekend from Den Oever

During a short sailing weekend from Den Oever we can sail to Texel on Friday afternoon. On Saturday we’ll first sail on the Wadden Sea and then go through the locks at Den Oever. Once through the locks, the Ijsselmeer will lie before us. How about a visit to Medemblik or (with favorable winds) Enkhuizen or Stavoren?

A short sailing weekend from Zoutkamp

Zoutkamp is the ideal location to start a short sailing weekend. You’ll come onboard Friday afternoon and we’ll head out to one of the many islands in the Lauwersmeer. This is a great spot of a barbeque. Prefer to lie on the beach? That’s possible too! Dokkum is also very inviting. Here you’ll find a number of terraces and a lovely shopping street.

After breakfast on Saturday morning we’re going to enjoy a day of sailing from the Lauwersmeer to the locks of Lauwersoog. Once we go through the locks we’ll be on the Wadden Sea. A journey to the large sandbar the Engelsmanplaat for a game of football is one of the possibilities. But a visit to Schiermonnikoog during favorable tides is also highly recommended during this short sailing weekend!
